— About the Company
Dance beyond borders.
An award-winning independent contemporary dance company, recognised for its fusion of styles and a long catalogue of collaborations across disciplines, cultures and continents.

— Philosophy
Our work centres on spiritual and philosophical questions rooted in both ancient Eastern and contemporary Western traditions — translated into dance through Navarasa, the yoga of the nine emotions.
From the first breath of a piece to its final bow, every Samadhi production is built around the principle of rasa — the collective emotional current that passes between performer and audience. It is dance as virtuoso technique, but also as offering.
To date, the company has produced 21 original works and toured across the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Bulgaria, Colombia, India and Russia — building a loyal international audience of more than 80,000 along the way.

— Artistic Director & Choreographer
Vraja Sundari Keilman
— Biography
Born in Amsterdam in 1982 and raised in an artistic family rooted in spiritual tradition, Vraja trained in classical and contemporary ballet at the Amsterdam Theaterschool and Codarts Rotterdam, dancing professionally with Scapino Ballet and Korzo Productions.
In 2007 she founded Samadhi Dance Company, since recognised for its honest, innovative work and a steady stream of awards and nominations across Europe.
Her research into the connections between dance forms has produced a singular movement language — one that fuses the Vedic principles of yoga and classical Indian dance with Western contemporary technique, expanding vocabulary while reconnecting dancer and audience to body, breath and place.
Today she continues to choreograph, perform and teach internationally, fostering authentic encounters between cultures, disciplines and individuals through movement.
