It is with great pleasure that we would like to announce the premiere of ‘ABHAY’ on Sunday November 24 at the Krishna Spectacular show held at the renowned Eventim Apollo Theater in London, an absolutely unique and truly spectacular happening! Over 2000 tickets sold and countdown has begun so get your tickets now and experience this incredible show live!
Krishna Spectacular celebrates the Golden Anniversary of spiritual heritage brought by the legendary author and spiritual leader A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada who changed the world by bringing the Vedic culture to the West during the roaring 60’s.
For this momentous occasion Samadhi’s founder Vraja Sundari was requested to create a dance performance giving visual and emotional expression to A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada’s dramatic journey from India to the United States, resulting in the dance creation ‘ABHAY’.
Krishna Spectacular is a modern expression of ancient culture in a story of how timeless wisdom from India came to swinging 60’s London, and what the beautiful blue boy called Krishna has to teach us about the world today.
Bringing together devotional performing arts from East and West, the show will fascinate both adults and children from all walks of life.
Besides Samadhi’s ‘ABHAY’ the Krishna Spectacular show will include:
‘ABHAY’ is a contemporary crossover dance performance created for the Krishna Spectacular show choreographed by Vraja Sundari in collaboration with Gaura Nataraj (bharata natyam) and Samadhi’s team of exquisite dancers. The title ‘ABHAY‘ is A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada’s first name which means ‘fearless’ in Sanskrit and gives a perfect description of this incredible personality.
‘ABHAY’ will be performed by dancers Vraja Sundari, Gaura Nataraj, Annlydie Groenen, Jeffrey Stuut, Ilaria Angelicchio and new additions to the team Victor Swank and Lauren Schuitemaker, exceptional students from the Lucia Marthas Performing Arts Academy in Amsterdam.
The costumes are created by Russian artist Asya Solov’eva in collaboration with the multitalented Natalia Fedotova, Samadhi’s Russian partner. The ‘ABHAY’ soundtrack includes tracks from Faroese, Dwarakadisa Das, Suplington, Ólafur Arnalds and Joep Beving with narrations by George Harrison, Tamal Krishna Goswami, HG Rukmini Devi, HG Syamasundar, HG Malati devi dasi and A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada himself. More info incl. videos and photography by Bimala Naysmith and Lars Steenhoff will follow the coming weeks, so keep an eye on our updates.
